Dr. Han Jo Kim has been a true blessing in my life, he is a brilliant and skilled surgeon as well as a confident, warm, and kind person. When I met him, I knew I was in the best hands possible and I never looked back. I was a fused scoliosis patient (1979) as a 17 year old girl and 15 years ago began having severe nerve pain (leg), spinal stenosis and flat back syndrome. At that time, the only option was a full revision surgery which was daunting so I chose injections which worked for a while and then I just lived with the pain and worsening posture. Severe arm and neck pain, a recommendation from a co-worker, and divine intervention brought me to Dr. Kim in the Spring of 2025 and my first surgery was June 2025 (Cervical Spine). This surgery brought me immediate pain relief and the recovery was seamless…back to work in 3 weeks! During my follow-up appointment, Dr. Kim mentioned my other severe spinal issues and gave me so much hope - he assured me that his techniques and instrumentation would make the surgery nothing to be feared and nothing like the surgery I had in 1979. I was so happy, excited, and full of hope! I am now 8 weeks post-op from the Spinal Fusion/Flat Back Correction surgery, my posture is great; I’m 64 years old and already returned to a job I love…I can’t stop smiling! I am so grateful to HSS - nurses, techs, P.T., Dr. Nelson, his staff and truly everyone I encountered during my two surgeries. I am forever grateful to Dr. Han Jo Kim and he is included in my good thoughts and prayers with people I love the most…my family and friends.
