Risewell states, that they care about families. But in my experience that is far from the truth. They have been barring me from living with my wife of twenty years for the past eight years. I lived with my wife of twenty years for 7 years under Risewell before my wife and I separated for a year. I always paid the rent on time when I lived there and never caused any trouble. My wife and I have been renunited since 2018. Since that time I have had to live apart from my wife. Because Risewell is refusing to allow us to live together. My wife always pays her rent on time and the two of us have been practically begging Risewell to let me move back in. They have been keeping us apart for 7yrs. When they say that they care about families they're a bunch of liars. I have had to move back in with my parents and my parents are elderly and don't really have alot of room in their house. My father has Alzheimer's and has health care workers coming to their house pretty often. My brother lives with my parents also and my mom would like more space to herself. I have had Risewell as my representative payee for almost two years, and unfortunately it has been a very rocky experience. They are responsible for handling my SSI, and this week they failed to deposit my funds on time. My SSI was supposed to be deposited on Monday. It is now Thursday, and the money is still not in my account. As a result, I am without basic necessities. I am hungry, and so are my pets. My assigned payee, Romona Burke, suggested switching to paper checks going forward. This immediately raised a red flag for me. I have been receiving deposits electronically this entire time, so there was no clear reason for this change. I am disabled and do not have a car, and cashing checks would be a major inconvenience and barrier. I eventually reached the program supervisor, who acknowledged a Capital One banking error and stated the funds were re-deposited, instructing me to check my Chime account. The call was ended shortly after. The result is that there is still no money in my account. At this point, I am actively trying to identify a higher-level administrator beyond Dina, as I am attempting to file a formal grievance regarding this situation. I have not yet been provided with clear information on who that individual is or how to proceed. I am outraged, and I believe that outrage is justified. This is my money—government benefits I am legally entitled to—and delays like this put people at real risk. I am deeply concerned about how many others may be falling through the cracks and going without food or necessities due to failures like this. Representative payee services exist to protect vulnerable individuals. In this case, that trust was broken.
