I recently had an ENT appointment with Dr. Michael Alleva, and my experience was very disappointing. He had already decided on a treatment plan before discussing my preferences or other options, and when I clearly stated that I did not want the medication offered, he told me to “live with it.” Alternative treatments were not presented, and the visit felt rushed and dismissive. Some documentation in my patient plan did not accurately reflect what was discussed, and certain items, like vital signs, were listed even though they were not measured. I am giving the practice three stars because of Dr. Rosalia Ayuso, the allergy doctor, who demonstrates excellent patient-centered care. She actively listens, involves me in treatment decisions, and never pressures me into a treatment I’m uncomfortable with. Regarding the front desk, experiences vary. One staff member with glasses comes across as unwelcoming, while another staff member, who I believe has brown or reddish hair, is consistently kind and professional. There is a third staff member whose demeanor is somewhat in between. Overall, the practice offers convenient access to multiple specialties, but the experience with Dr. Alleva and some front desk interactions contrasted sharply with the excellent care from Dr. Ayuso and other helpful staff. I hope the practice uses feedback like this to improve patient interactions and ensure accurate documentation.
