I’ve never placed a bad review of a doctor, so this is a first. I’ve been suffering with dry eye symptoms for quite some time. Dr Schottenstein was the third ophthalmologist I saw. Before any examination I was given a pamphlet for Lipiflow. After the exam Dr Schottenstein recommended Lipiflow as an elective procedure. He told me that he’s had a 90+% success rate. I was desperate and agreed to the procedure for $2,300. 12 minutes later it was done. On the way home I got a call asking if I’d like to buy Avenova, a lid and lash spray. I declined. I had this terrible feeling that I was being sold. A few weeks later I returned having received no benefit. Dr Schottenstein then prescribed an eye drop for dry eyes. I subsequently visited another ophthalmologist, who also had the Lipiflow technology, and he reported that there’s no way a single treatment would have positively impacted the problem. So, be aware.
