Dr Skiles was polite enough....he looked at my xrays and determined that I have arthritis severe in both ankles!! This I already knew...he DID NOT even talk about soft tissue, muscle or ligament injury. He spent a total of about 5 minutes with me then ran off a copy of an ankle support from Amazon that was delivered to me by someone else!! He left the room, that was it.. I felt very judged as I know I'm overweight. The last comment he made to me was "if you need something for pain, go back to your regular Dr.,I don't do that"!!!! By the way I have insurance that pays 100% ..... INSULATED TO SAY THE LEAST. I thought this was an advanced clinic with new solutions. My pain is real!!

My husband is a 100% veteran disabled Vietnam veteran. His previous podiatrist decided to no longer accept community care from the VA. From the first time I called Alderwood Ankle and Foot I was greeted with warmth and concern by Megan at the front desk, an appointment was made for a few days later. Venessa (Dr Dong Yu’s assistant) took us back to the exam room. Again we were greeted with a smile and caring attitude. My husband had came with a minor issue but when Dr Yu saw his foot she started looking over his foot and ankle, she wanted to take a few x-rays and when she came back with genuine concern she said he had a very serious condition. She immediately ordered a special boot from the VA and wanted to see him again in 1 month. For the she saw the condition was worse. She requested from the VA a referral to UW/Harborview. In all the years he has been using Community Care he has never had a Dr make a direct referral! She has gone above and beyond to take great care him, all with a kind, caring and concern. Community care and the VA messed up the referral. We inquired at the office, the Practice Manager Sophina was told of the issue and immediately got personally involved. She was able to contact VA and Harborview directly and he now has an appointment! Again she was warm, concerned, caring and determined to get this done.
