Menachem Sprei
As a male patient, my journey to recovery was far from easy. I had been dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction for most of my life and honestly believed that the discomfort and symptoms I experienced were just “normal” for me. Over time, however, it began to seriously impact my day-to-day life and overall well-being. I visited two different GI specialists, both of whom ran multiple tests. When none of the results provided a clear explanation for what was happening, I was essentially left without answers and told, “Hope it gets better.” At the end of one appointment, one of the doctors suggested I try physical therapy instead. I spent about six months seeing general physical therapists who were not specialized in pelvic floor therapy, but unfortunately, I saw little to no improvement. After realizing I needed a specialist, I searched specifically for pelvic floor PTs and found Dawn. From the very beginning, it was clear that patient care, not money was the priority. Before I spent anything, I completed a questionnaire and even received a follow-up call to make sure they felt confident they could actually help with my condition. That level of professionalism and honesty immediately stood out to me. From my initial evaluation onward, every appointment taught me something new about my body and how everything is connected. Dawn is incredibly knowledgeable, insightful, and patient. She takes the time to explain not only what is happening, but why it is happening, and she makes sure you truly understand the goals of the treatment before you leave. That said, recovery is a partnership. If you simply show up to appointments without putting in the effort at home, progress will naturally take longer. The exercises, techniques, and education she provides are extremely valuable, but consistency is key. I am genuinely grateful that I found Dawn and her practice. The knowledge and tools she gave me have made a meaningful difference in my life, and I will continue using what she taught me moving forward.
