This review is based on my personal experience with Dr. Shukan Shah, who placed my implants several years ago. I want to share it so patients needing complex work can be fully informed. Dr. Shah is a general dentist, not a specialist. He knew from the beginning that I did not have the required bone support in my upper left molar area and that I needed a bone graft first. Despite this, he still chose to place mini implants in the maxillary molar region — an area with high bite force where mini implants are not appropriate and have a high failure risk. The very first week after the procedure, one of the crowns became loose. I returned to the office and explained the issue. Instead of acknowledging the underlying problem, he initially told me everything “looked fine.” When he realized the crown was actually loose, he said, “You gave me a challenge,” removed the crowns, and sent them to be remade. Although the crowns were eventually re-cemented, the implants themselves were never stable because the foundation — the bone — was not adequate. Years later, both implants failed and the crowns completely detached. I have since been evaluated by specialists who confirmed that the implants should not have been placed without proper bone grafting and that mini implants were the wrong choice for that area. I now require implant removal, sinus lift, and bone graft surgery to correct the damage. I am sharing this review to help other patients understand the importance of seeing a qualified specialist when bone grafting or sinus-related work is needed. My experience with Dr. Shah was avoidable, and it has resulted in years of complications and additional treatment.
