I had a disappointing experience at Clinton Dental today. Before my appointment, I specifically asked whether I would be charged for anything out of pocket. The representative told me they would contact my insurance and did not clearly communicate any upfront costs beforehand. Once I arrived, I felt pressured into additional services like fluoride treatment and X-rays that were not the original reason for my visit. Only afterward was I presented with charges upfront for the cleaning, fluoride, and X-rays. My issue is not necessarily with paying for dental care — it’s the lack of transparency and the way these services were presented. Patients should be clearly informed about what is covered, what is optional, and what costs they may be responsible for before treatment begins, not after feeling upsold during the appointment. The experience felt misleading and transactional rather than patient-focused. I would strongly recommend that future patients ask for a full breakdown of costs and insurance coverage before agreeing to any additional procedures.
