What my family experienced at this facility was horrifying, traumatic, and completely inexcusable. In my personal experience, the level of neglect my aunt endured here nearly cost her her life. The conditions were filthy, unsanitary, and utterly unsafe for any patient—especially someone who was medically fragile and fully dependent on staff for care. Staff repeatedly ignored her call button. She would press it while clearly in distress, and no one would come. Watching her be left helpless for long periods of time was infuriating and heartbreaking. This was not an isolated incident—it happened again and again. Her trach and feeding tube were not properly cared for, and her health visibly deteriorated while she was at this facility. The neglect was so severe that she became dangerously constipated, to the point where feces were visibly present at her anal opening. That is a complete failure of basic care and human dignity. As a family, we repeatedly raised concerns based on our direct observations. It was evident to us that she was becoming seriously ill. Each time we spoke up, our concerns were dismissed or shut down, and nothing changed. By the time she was removed from this place, she had to be hospitalized in critical condition. About three months later now, she is still in the hospital, dealing with serious complications, including thyroid issues. Even worse, her feeding tube site became so stretched and damaged that it ultimately had to be removed—something that, based on our understanding and what we witnessed, should never have happened with proper care. In my opinion, this was the direct result of the negligence she experienced at this facility. This place did not just fail my aunt—it destroyed her health and turned our lives upside down. The lack of care, sanitation, responsiveness, and basic compassion was shocking. I would never trust this facility with anyone I love. If you are considering placing a family member here, please understand the risk. What happened to my aunt should never happen to anyone.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the care my mother received at Cliffside Rehabilitation Center. She stayed here for several months after suffering multiple heart attacks that left her unable to walk, talk, eat, or perform basic daily functions. When she arrived, we were unsure of what the future would look like. The medical team at Cliffside did an exceptional job overseeing her care and supporting her recovery. Through their dedication, expertise, and compassion, my mother has been able to regain her strength and return to her vibrant, energetic self—something we once feared might not be possible. I would especially like to thank the social work team, Julia Cruz and Michelle Salmon. They went above and beyond to help my family navigate a very complex medical insurance process and ensured my mother had a smooth and well-coordinated discharge. They truly cared—not just professionally, but personally. They treated my mother like family, took extra time to check in on her, and kept us consistently informed every step of the way. Cliffside provided not only medical care, but genuine compassion and support during one of the most difficult periods of our lives. We will always be thankful for the role they played in my mother’s recovery.
