CityMD East 50th Urgent Care - NYC

For the sake of god. I made appointment at 4.30 and it’s 5pm now. Still waiting. And there is no patients here besides me and another gentleman. What the hell happened to this city MD . It never used to be like this. Completely unacceptable. Do not come to this location. One of the receptionist was nice though.

DO NOT GO HERE!!! I just had an absolutely traumatizing experience with Dr. Thomas. He is extremely rude, unprofessional, touched me without my consent, and assaulted me. I went in to get tested for strep throat. The secretary and nurse were kind and professional, but I waited a very long time for the doctor, and when he came in, he was not wearing a mask. He was also immediately rude from the jump, and instead of politely asking why I was in today, he basically asked me what my problem was. Normally, the doctors or nurses ask you to remove your mask yourself before they do any tests. He reached for my mask himself to try to take it off without asking or saying he was going to do that! I pulled away and asked him to please put on his mask before taking mine off. He groaned, and sloppily pulled a flimsy mask partially onto his face, and then said in an annoyed tone "Is that fine?" And I said "No, your mask still isn't on properly. Could you please adjust it to be on properly before I take mine off?" Obviously, he is seeing other sick patients all day, and I didn't want to catch anything else besides what I might already have. He continue to act extremely annoyed, and refused to put his mask on properly. He told me I could go to a different urgent care if I didn't like this. I had already left work and taken an hour and a half of my time to go do this. I asked if the nurse could give me my test results, and he said no and that she couldn't examine me, only he could. I asked if there were any other doctors there, and he said no, only him. He literally started to try to leave the room without examining me at all. He then told me my tests were negative and to take Tylenol and still tried to leave. I was like "I already paid for this service, so could you please examine me?" He was like "oh now it's okay?" I said "Even though your mask is still on improperly, now it is at least covering your nose and mouth, so yes." He then proceeded to take the light that they use to look at your throat and practically jam it down my throat. He kept asking me to say "ahh" over and over again while shoving the light down my throat, forcing me to lean back further and further in the chair so that I wasn't gagging on the light. He also didn't put any sort of cover on it, so I had to keep moving away to make sure it didn't touch me. I am extremely shaken up and upset after this harrowing experience. I feel extremely violated, disgusted, and very angry that I was not able to get proper treatment today. They also refused to give me a refund because they said even though he did not properly perform the tests or treat me, he still entered the room, so I still have to pay. I will be taking this up with the billing department, my insurance, and my bank if necessary. I will also be reporting this doctor to the New York State line to report conduct behavior issues. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior by a medical professional. I hope his licence is revoked!
