I had a terrible experience with this CityMD location that I feel compelled to share. They mistakenly used my son’s medical chart for another child, which led to me seeing lab results that did not belong to him. To make matters worse, they tampered with my son’s insurance information as well. Despite the seriousness of this HIPAA violation and medical records violations, there were no apologies offered, and it seemed like their corporate office was taking this matter far too lightly. I reached out to them via email, but I have yet to receive a satisfactory response. I even requested to speak with the regional director, Michael Jean, but he didn’t have the decency to return my call. I tried to get an update from Hattie in compliance, but she was unresponsive as well this week. It’s frustrating and unprofessional, especially considering that they are putting a child's health at risk with their negligence. NY STATE has been more helpful in addressing this issue than this office ever was. CityMD is a joke, and I would strongly advise anyone to think twice before trusting them with their healthcare needs.

I brought my daughter to CityMD Mt. Eden Urgent Care early in the morning because she wasn’t feeling well. We were seen very quickly, and the medical staff was excellent. The scribe who worked with us was exceptionally professional, patient, and calm, even though my daughter was having a difficult time. She handled the situation well and completed everything efficiently. Overall, our experience with the clinical staff was great. However, I did encounter an issue with the front desk procedures. While the staff were polite and professional, I believe their training—or possibly their policies and procedures—needs improvement. I was charged a higher copay than I usually pay, and I was told this was because they are instructed to charge the higher-tier copay upfront and issue a refund after billing. After speaking with someone in my own billing department at work, I learned that this practice is considered unethical and can even be illegal, potentially falling under insurance fraud or violating insurance contract terms. I’m sharing this to encourage anyone who isn't on Medicaid and has a copay or coinsurance to double-check the amount they’re being charged at this facility. They may overcharge you and require you to wait until they submit the claim to your insurance before issuing a refund. I eventually got my refund, but the process shouldn't have happened this way. The clinical care was excellent, but the billing practices definitely need attention.
