We visited Hudson Regional Medical Radiology Department for a nuclear stress test for my father. Overall, the experience was good, but we did not expect how busy the department was or that the procedure would take around three hours. It would be helpful if staff informed patients about the expected duration at the time of scheduling, so patients can plan accordingly. Many people have tight schedules, and this came as a surprise to us. There was also an issue with the reporting process. The test results were not faxed to the doctor as expected. After waiting for one week without a follow-up visit, we contacted the department and were told over the phone that they would fax it immediately. This felt inefficient, as we had already lost a week waiting for the doctor’s appointment due to the missing report. While the medical service itself was satisfactory, better communication and more reliable handling of reports would significantly improve the overall patient experience.
