I would not recommend this organization. There are serious concerns regarding supervision, client consent, and the transportation of minors by homemakers during their assignments. In reported incidents, a homemaker transported a client’s child to a personal errand location to pay her rent and later requested permission for additional activities, which the parent declined and stated would require company approval. There are also reports of a homemaker transporting a child to meet her own family and indicating an intention to take the child to her residence to spend the night and spend time with her family, without parental authorization. Additional concerns include children being taken to homemakers’ private residences. Despite these concerns, individuals involved were reportedly not terminated and were instead reassigned to other cases, where there are concerns that similar conduct may continue. Attempts to file formal complaints are reportedly met with serious barriers or extreme delays. It is further reported that program director Valerie Tain has been made aware of these concerns and has done nothing to ensure the safety of the children.

My two-year-old has autism and I had a few ongoing service coordinators at this agency and I’m going to tell you it was the worst experience of my life. They were not responsive and they were so delayed with getting services for my child that I ended up escalating it to the assembly representative for New York City. The turnover at this agency is high so you’re not going to have any stable experience which makes an already challenging process extremely difficult. I would strongly encourage you to look at other agencies like New York child resource center.
