The doctor was amazing, the Xray tech was amazing, the front desk on the 4th floor was great. Would be five stars if it started from there. Getting the appointment was a nightmare. In trying to explain my unique situation, the person manning the appointments kept talking over me and raising their voice to drown me out. I politely asked if we could work together because this is a serious issue, but there was no change in behavior. Since I’m not a medical expert, I didn’t use the correct exact words to be able to get the same-day appointment per “policy” that my son needed. The specific doctor that he needed to see was only available for one more hour, so speed was of the essence. After I was told repeatedly there was no on-call PA or doctor available to verify my son‘s need, I was stonewalled for 10 minute. Eventually, I was able to find out how to say his condition using a combination of words that allowed her to forward me to my doctors office staff. It was worse than talking to AI. The doctors office staff was awesome and that they were able to interpret his condition and they scheduled an appointment within 30 minutes so that I could catch the doctor before they were gone for the day. The only other issue that I ran into is the community center portion of the hospital requires that you check in at the front, but there are no clear instructions. When I approach the front desk to try and figure out what I needed to do, I was treated like a major annoyance. Just seems like it’s not the right job for someone to operate an information desk and be annoyed for a question about how do I check in. Meh.
