I am writing to express my concern regarding the significant delay in receiving my daughter’s surgical clearance letter. My daughter had her appointment on November 24 for the pre-surgical clearance. I was informed that the letter would take only a few days because the clinic needed to wait for her blood test results—no more than three days. I fully understood this, especially considering the holiday period. However, today is December 10, and neither I nor the surgery center have received the required clearance letter. I have called the office six times to follow up. During my most recent call, I explained once again that I urgently need the letter. The staff member who answered the phone asked why I needed it if my daughter’s surgery is scheduled for December 30. I informed her that the surgery center is waiting for this clearance in order to move the surgery date up, and she simply answered that she did not know and that I just had to wait. I have now been waiting for more than a week, and every time I call, I am told the same thing—that the doctor will complete it after finishing with the patients, possibly later in the day. Unfortunately, this has not happened. As a mother who has been bringing my family to this center for over 10 years, and who even brought my daughter to your Fajardo location, I am very disappointed. The new staff and physicians have shown a concerning lack of responsibility in handling this important and time-sensitive matter. This delay is directly affecting My daugther care. Not to mention that I work in a medical office just like you, I can understand that you're busy, but not to busy that you can't do your job.
