I scheduled through ZocDoc, filled out all required intake information in advance, and then was asked to repeat portions of the same paperwork in person. Minor, but set the tone. More frustrating: I called ahead specifically to explain that I had already completed an MRI and needed to be seen by a neurologist, not a PA. I understand their standard policy is to see a PA first for patients who haven't done any testing, but I had, and I communicated that clearly on the call. The person who handles their ZocDoc scheduling confirmed that wouldn't be an issue. I was seen by a PA anyway. To her credit, she was kind and professional, and she herself acknowledged she wasn't sure why I had been directed to her given my situation. She then sent me to someone named Sergey, who I was told was not a neurologist either. The interaction with Sergey was deeply unhelpful. I've been dealing with post-concussion symptoms for over two months following an injury, and his response was essentially that there was nothing to be done. No treatment options, no referrals, no next steps. When I pushed for more information, it felt like pulling teeth. When I raised that a neurologist might have more to offer, he told me they would say the same thing, which felt presumptuous given he isn't one. I came in hoping for guidance after a difficult two months. I left with nothing. The staff scheduling disconnect, the redundant paperwork, and the lack of any meaningful clinical engagement made this a frustrating and ultimately wasted visit. Front desk staff were super kind though!
