Argus Community Inc/Striver House “Avoid At All Cost” It’s mice infested, HOT, unclean and disgusting. I really thought this program could help. I have someone I care about in this facility and it has been a letdown a disappointment to say the least with trying to keep this civil. This is supposed to be a Rehabilitation program, let’s take a look at the definition of Rehabilitation-the process of treatment for those suffering from addictions, it may include a combination of different treatments and with that being said people suffering and needing guidance, interventions and the necessary tools to help individuals overcome so when they go back out into society hopefully they can achieve lasting abstinence. The facility workers have taken from the men, their food stamps, insurance money and not offering at this place any type of imperative classes of counseling . They are not providing the proper nutrition and let’s keep in mind at the facility their food stamps is taken away from them. “LET’S NOT FORGET THAT “ They get truck deliveries of soda, snacks and different food items/products and produce that is not properly being given to these men, however being eaten by staff and taking home by staff. The WAM they receive at the end of each month while at the facility is a small monetary stipend it is not given to them in a timely manner that they are able to take care of some responsibilities of their own. “I asked the question who is liable for these types of actions?” Don’t waste your time with this place if you’re truly committed to changing your life for good for the help to re-enter society in a better state you were in before entering Striver House. This place is nasty and there’s no discipline with drugs and no security, there’s no one properly trained to administer medication and for the most part NO ONE properly equipped to run a decent stable committed program for the care that can help you get back on your feet and the abilities that you need for daily life. Treat these men as people/humane and perhaps there could be a better outcome/results. Stay mindful because you never know the bridges you may have to cross one day. He’s Not Heavy
