Re: Home therapy We were very unlucky in terms of getting a proper therapist. Last year, my son did not get almost any therapy at all because his original therapist became sick and was absent for almost 3 months. We could not find any capable therapists nor anyone with potential after that. I feel sorry to say this but one therapist had little experience working as a therapist. In addition, she had very strong accent and we barely understood her English (I am sure my autistic son also had a difficulty understanding her). Another one had absolutely no idea about ABA and no experience working with children in general. I had to be with her during the entire session and advise what she can do with my son. I felt sorry for them. I understand it is not easy to find a therapist but agency should at least train them and ensure they are capable, if they have no experience as a therapist, before sending them to our house.
