My experience with Dr. Ward was unsettling. My insurance is set up with a deductible. Meaning I usually pay a bill following my medical visits. This was clearly an issue for Dr. Ward and she had instructed the medical assistant to tell me I needed to pay $100 cash co-pay. The medical assistant did not charge me this and encourage me to call my insurance to find out more about how to pay for the visit. At one point there in my visit, a different medical assistant came into the room and basically whispered to me Dr. Ward is money hungry, and she only really cares about getting paid. During the visit she attempted to have me see a private office for an x-ray and then come back to her, which I declined because at this point I was just feeling very uncomfortable. The moral of the story is I think something fishy is going on in the doctors office financially because they are also several signs posted that she only except cash co-pays.
