I love my appointments with Dr. Lebow--she's warm, funny, and excellent as a dermatologist. I've had too many summers in the sun without sunscreen so Dr. Lebow treats my lesions, skin tags and wrinkles. She's an absolute gem of a human and a doctor. The staff is supportive and warm too--very busy (for good reasons).

Honestly, surprised reading all these stellar reviews. My experience wasn’t horrific by any means, but I can guarantee you I won’t be going back. I feel like the interaction I had that was the most characteristic of the entire experience was when I told her I had previously had ringworm on my scalp two years ago, and she quickly asserted it was actually “seb derm”; I imagine because it lined up with some narrative she hastily crafted of my health. I had it diagnosed as ringworm then, and was only when I told her such and that it manifested as rings that she seemed to second guess herself for a moment, but actually never retracted her claim and we just moved on from the topic. Felt like she was trying to rush the diagnoses at the cost of accuracy. I even mentioned red itchy bumps that had in the past manifested at the bottom of my bicep during exercise only to be cut off with “that’s keratosis pilaris *pointing to my arm*” — I mean what I’m talking about is not even there right now (there is no “that”). Felt like she wasn’t even listening to me talk. Very Anxiety from the pixar movie in disposition for sure — cutting you off, not listening, thinking they know best; which to be clear she does, she’s a doctor I’m not. But I don’t care where you went to school or how long you’ve been practicing, you need information in order to arrive at informed diagnoses, and you need to listen in order to get that information. Multiple times conclusions were being jumped to about my health absent critical information which she would have just gotten had she stopped diagnosing me for a second to hear me out. Eventually I just accepted that this doctor’s appointment was a bust, declined treatment for anything, and resigned to continuing the hunt for a trusted dermatologist.
