I’m honestly still in shock after my experience with Dr. Ames. I initially consulted him for a long-term solution to a chipped tooth that repeatedly failed with repairs. He recommended veneers and specifically advised me to have the procedure done outside the U.S., explaining that doing it locally would require excessive removal of my natural teeth and that other countries offered less invasive techniques. Based on his professional guidance, I made the significant decision to travel abroad for treatment. When I returned for what should have been a routine adjustment, the experience was deeply concerning. Instead of care, I was met with hostility, impatience, and a dismissive attitude. I was spoken to in an aggressive tone and made to feel as though I had done something wrong by following his own recommendation. After paying for the initial adjustment, I left with an uneven bite but felt uncomfortable returning immediately due to how I had been treated. When I came back the next day to correct the issue, the situation escalated. I was told I would be charged for each visit, spoken to in an openly irritated manner, and rushed through the appointment. During that visit, Dr. Ames adjusted my zirconia crowns in a way that felt careless and overly aggressive. When I got home, I was alarmed to see the condition of the crowns—they were left unpolished and visibly damaged. This was work I had already invested significant time, trust, and money into. At no point should a patient feel intimidated, dismissed, or rushed when seeking care—especially after following a provider’s own recommendations. This experience fell far below acceptable professional and ethical standards. I strongly caution others before placing their trust here. I am currently reviewing my options regarding how to address what occurred.
