The plan (my plan) was always to get our daughter’s ears pierced when she was a baby, but with Covid in the way, it never happened. Fast forward SIX years and we finally decided to do it, and I am so happy we chose to have it done at our pediatrician’s office. The experience was top notch from beginning to end. We were able to get numbing cream for our daughter’s ears beforehand, which made the process as comfortable as possible. Christina is an absolute pro. She was incredibly detail-oriented and made absolutely sure the placement was perfect and something Sophia could grow into over time. Beyond that, Christina’s personality absolutely shines. She was fun, warm, bright, and funny, and she made our little girl feel so proud, happy, and special throughout the entire experience. For a very aware and observant 6-year-old, that meant everything. Sophia walked out feeling like a superstar with her new earrings, and as parents, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

I have written 104 reviews on Google, and this is only the second 1-star review I’ve left. In both cases, I felt compelled to share my experience. We recently moved from Northern Virginia to Rockville, MD, and our previous pediatrician recommended a colleague at Potomac Pediatrics. At first glance, it seems like a good practice. However, for me, the most important factors are honesty, qualified professionals, and trust. From our brief experience, we encountered billing issues similar to those described in other reviews. A Maryland Department of Health–mandated lead screening test of two healthy children was billed incorrectly to our insurance. The claim was initially submitted using code Z77.011 (“contact with and suspected exposure to lead”), which triggered a copay, even though this test should have been fully covered as preventive care if coded correctly. Attempting to resolve the issue required multiple exchanges. While the practice did correct the claim, BlueCross BlueShield has continued to indicate that the billing code used was incorrect, resulting in a copay. Despite this, the practice charged my credit card for the copay. This situation ultimately resulted in a loss of trust and led us to leave the practice (April 9). We have since transferred our children’s care to Bethesda Pediatrics (at 11325 Seven Locks Rd), where registration and scheduling were straightforward and efficient—a much smoother process than at Potomac Pediatrics. In summary, I would not recommend Potomac Pediatrics. While the office has nice amenities like a fish tank and complimentary coffee, the billing practices need significant improvement. We were also uncomfortable being required to provide a credit card upfront, which was not the case at Bethesda Pediatrics. I encourage others to carefully consider their options.
